SAFETY TESTING

CE MARKING

All Mil-tek balers carry the CE Mark.

Any product that comes under a European Directive and is to be placed on the market in the EU must bear CE marking – it's a legal requirement. CE marking is the manufacturer's claim that the product meets the essential requirements of all relevant EU Directives.

The manufacturer needs to identify the Directives and Conformity Assessment procedures that are applicable and ensure compliance with requirements. Technical Documentation needs to be maintained and a Declaration of Conformity needs to be prepared. Third party testing is often not required for CE marking.

GS MARK

Most Mil-tek Balers carry the GS Mark.

The GS Mark has developed over a period of more than 20 years into a safety mark recognised throughout the world. (GS stands for Geprüfte Sicherheit or “Safety Tested”). Technical equipment may be labelled with the GS Mark if:

  • The equipment is tested by an authorised independent body and is certified to meet the safety requirements.
  • The testing and certification body monitors that only products corresponding to the type are placed on the market (production monitoring).

If a manufacturer meets these requirements a GS Test Certificate is issued. The GS Mark is based on the German Equipment Safety Act (Gerätesicherheitsgesetz / GSG). This applies to technical equipment such as devices ready for use, working equipment, prime movers and powered machines, hoisting and conveying devices and vehicles.

Mil-tek believes that independent third-party testing is an essential element in ensuring that all our products continue to meet our stringent safety standards.
