The A509 baler is the third generation of Mil-tek pneumatic balers, featuring two heavy-duty double-acting cylinders that use compressed air to press and release the plate.
Running on compressed air means that the A509 can connect to an existing air source, an efficient power source free of hydraulic oil, and free of risk of contamination.
Adaptable to compact plastic (300kg bales), cardboard (225kg bales) as well as other recyclable materials, the wide door and large pressing chamber of the A509 means that it can handle large volumes of bulky waste material.
As with all Mil-tek pneumatic machines. EN16500 features are standard and the A509 has a safe and simple two-handed baleout mechanism.
Currys is a British electrical retailer operating in the UK and Ireland. They installed a Mil-tek 509 in store to effectively reduce the amount of space dedicated to waste.
Buildbase is a national builders' merchant with 130 branches throughout the UK. They partnered with Mil-tek to reduce their waste costs and the amount of waste being sent to landfill.
Secor Group are a global logistics and mobility services company. The introduction of a Mil-tek 509 has improved the logistics of work and use of staff time.
A Mil-tek technician will guide you through installation, which is done by simply connecting your A509 baler to a compressed air supply. You are now ready to start minimizing your waste.
Pull down the activation lever to start the pressing cycle.
To release the pressing plate, pull the door handle.
The door will remain shut until the plate has fully returned. Repeat as required.
If the ‘bale out’ indicator stays green when the pressing plate is down, it’s time to bale out.
Open the lower door and tie off the bale.
Release the pressing plate and use the two-handed bale out mechanism to empty the machine.
A Mil-tek consultant will guide you in making this decision. What you need to know is the approximate amount of e.g. cardboard you generate every day, in what stream and in what sizes it comes. In addition to this you should know how much space you have available for a machine. This basic information combined with your business set-up forms the basis for evaluating which model machine you need.
Your internal working processes and the data available on your waste streams will provide you with that answer. Together with Mil-tek, we will ensure you find the optimal spot in your workplace.
Yes it is. Over the last number of years Mil-tek have been a part of a Health and Safety Executive committee that has been committed to creating new improved standards for the safe use of vertical balers. As a result we have made a significant number of improvements to the model A509 in order to comply with EN16500 standards and to ensure safe use for the end-user. As they are air-powered (pneumatic) rather than hydraulic, Mil-tek balers are extremely quiet. If you have an existing air-line you simply plug the machine and then your existing compressor acts as the engine. If you need to have a compressor installed, a Mil-tek technician will ensure that the compressor is placed at a distance from the machine and then install an air-hose between the compressor and the machine.
Ideal for baling plastic packaging typically used in the transportation and protection of clothing and consumable items. Constant pressure ensures an extremely dense bale is produced that is both easy to handle and easy to recycle. The baler can also be used to recycle smaller volumes of cardboard in small/medium supermarkets, convenience stores and general retail outlets.
The wide door and deep chamber of the Mil-tek A509 baler means large volumes of cardboard can be baled without the need for breaking down or flat packing. Plastic packaging stored in Mil-tek plastic bag stands can be placed directly into the baler saving time and therefore cost when dealing with packaging waste.
The modern waste technique of segregating and baling packaging waste using strategically placed recycling points has resulted in a significant increase in productivity across a range of organisations. A Mil-tek A509 baler accompanied by a small plastic baler (such as a model A102 or A205 baler), and strategically placed plastic bag stand can vastly improve logistics where a steady stream of packaging waste is created in multiple areas.
